Mark. there are some very interesting shapes and textures in this image and you have done well to avoid blown out highlights in such bright conditions. You might consider a slight crop from the top or takeout the bright leaf top right.   Posted: 10/12/2025 08:34:53
The tones of this are lovely. The flower is strong and in a good position. I like the way you have cropped the pads to frame the main subject and hold everything in. We don't need to see all of the pads to complete tha picture and for them to fulfil their role. Well done.   Posted: 10/13/2025 08:55:45
Nice shot, Mark. You captured sharp details of the water lily, especially handheld. The pads in the background add interest. Good tonal variation. Cropping the right side a bit, as Peter has suggested, would remove the bright leaf and also the part of another pad. Well done.   Posted: 10/13/2025 16:30:53
Mark--As someone who has attempted a few (mostly unsuccessful) waterlilly shots in my time, I have to congratulate you on a beautiful image. The monochrome works really well, I think. The lovely flower supported by the interesting lillypads creates a feast of shapes and textures. The detail of the serrated edges of the lillypads is excellent.   Posted: 10/19/2025 16:26:37
