Wow! Great Impact! My first emotion was to feel appreciation for living in such a beautiful place. What a beautiful moment you have captured. I love the composition. I like this photo as is. I might consider giving a hairline more breathing space to the flower, top and left sides. But truly, a beautiful image as is.

Ace shooting, Mike! I'm really jealous of this photo.

You didn't quote the shutter speed, I'd be interested as the wings are blurry, but the body is pin sharp, so I'm imagining it's motion blur. Perfect, just like we try to get blurred propellers on an aircraft in flight.   Posted: 10/08/2025 09:23:03

Thanks for your comments. It appears to have been 1/500 of a sec, but using AP F9, and ISO 1250, I never actually check the shutter speed!   Posted: 10/09/2025 14:27:03

Nice capture! What shutter speed did you take this at? Not easy to catch the bee mid-flight   Posted: 10/09/2025 01:22:38

I always use AP and never check the shutter speed. Looking at memory it was 1/500 of a sec!   Posted: 10/09/2025 14:24:34

great in catching the bee in flight, blurry wings show that! flower is positioned nicely. pink with the green blurred background is nice. flower is behind the been and not in focus but that is ok because it is meant to highlight the bee. The pink petals in front look more in focus and thus those petals and the bee keep my eyes in the front of the photo.   Posted: 10/11/2025 02:01:30

What a great capture of the bee in flight! It is sharp exactly where it should be. I am also assuming that the wing is blurred from motion. One thing I would be cautious about is any manipulation in post--on the left hand side, it looks like you've fooled a bit with the background...maybe some cloning behind that wing? Part of the beauty of being in the study groups is that everybody views an image differently, and the input is supposed to help us to see what we might not have seen when we were in post.   Posted: 10/17/2025 04:49:25
