Bee and the Butterfly: I took this photograph on June 15th, 2026 at the Chattahoochee river walk. The blooms of Pickerelweed, a native to the wetlands attracts many pollinators such as the swallowtail butterfly and the bees. I cropped the photo vertically, sharpened the bee and burned the background for this final version.

Lovely colors, focus and action. It almost looks like the two are interacting, but probably they are both interested in gathering nectar and not in each other. Tell me if I'm wrong. Posted: 07/04/2026 23:20:25
Leslie, My guess is as good as yours! You're right-they're both after the nectar. Perhaps, before the bee decides to land on the flower, it's politely asking the butterfly for permission. Posted: 07/14/2026 20:27:25
Beautiful Swallowtail! I really enjoy photographing Butterflies for their colorful beauty! You have certainly captured this specimens vibrant colors as well as the Pickerel Weeds' color! AND managed to catch a bee in focus as well! Congratulations! You choose your settings wisely and rewarded with a sharp clear photo! Nice job, Sarita!

Very nice, Sarita. Swallowtails are so beautiful and you captured this one perfectly. You may want to try cropping from the bottom of this one-- maybe square from the bottom of the image. Still a wonderful shot in nature. Posted: 07/17/2026 20:22:29
