HI Bob, I'd love to know the details of this shot! Did you hike up there? Was it off a road? I've never been there, so curious about that. I like the composition, but bothered a tiny bit about the top of the tree cutting into the small island -- were you restricted to movement (likely :) ) or were you able to more around a bit?

I took this during the annual Crater Lake bike ride. Just a quick snap with a pocket camera, not my usual gear (Minolta MND20) We were restricted to how close we can get to the edge by a rock wall. It was a beautiful day to start, but those white clouds turned darker and by the end of the ride (32 miles) it started raining on us. I wasn't able to do a lot "in-camera" so the few adjustments I made (cropping, exposure) I did in Lightroom after the fact. This is pretty much straight out of the camera. Posted: 10/11/2025 02:48:28
