About the Image(s)
I took this shot just about 15 yards upstream of the waterfall shot I shared last month. I like the serenity of the scene and I wanted the two mossy rocks in the center to be my main point of interest. I had low diffused light, as the forest has a heavy canopy. For post processing I did a lot of haze removal and sharpening. I also worked on the color contrast with just a little bit of saturation to bring out the green.
For the "Original 2" I just cropped down from the top to give in more of a PANO look. I'd like your opinion on that.
I took the shot with my Canon R, 50mm prime lens; aperture f/16; shutter speed 1/2.5 of a sec (on a tripod) and ISO of 400.

The rocks on the right bottom look a tad too bright to me (not by much and my eye gets stuck there instead of on the mossy rocks.
Might I suggest darkening the background a tiny bit (maybe a vignette) and brightening the mossy rocks a bit as well to further bring the viewers eye where you want it?
I think you've done a good job of capturing the serenity of it and good choice of shutter speed and nice DOF. It makes me want to go visit there!   Posted: 10/10/2025 22:44:12
