About the Image(s)

Date of exposure: 30-08-2025, 10:42 hrs.
Subject: KOPAI RIVER, WEST BENGAL, INDIA
CAMERA: Nikon D7200 with 18-200 lens
Exposure details: f-stop f/8 , Focal Length: 18 mm, shutter speed 1/500 sec, ISO 200 , pattern metering, auto mode

LOCATION: The Kopai River is a tributary of the Bakreshwar River. It flows past such towns as Santiniketan, Bolpur in Birbhum district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is a small river in dry season but overflows its banks during the monsoon.
Shantiniketan was established by Maharshi Devendranath Tagore, and later expanded by his son, Rabindranath Tagore whose vision became what is now a university town with the creation of Visva-Bharati.

EDITING: I used PS CS 2025 to edit the frame, by a desktop computer. I used adobe camera raw 17 plug-in to enhance clarity, shadow details, brightness and exposure. I also used Topaz software to reduce digital noise.

Sanat, you did masterful work bringing color, depth and life to the submitted image. I like the use of the grass as foreground. The river guides the eye of the viewer to the bridge. Nice job.   Posted: 10/21/2025 00:24:57
