I enjoy these simple home projects. Select some simple objects. Arrange them on a base placed on a table top, and use window light to illuminate the scene. Do basic processing in Lightroom Classic. Move to photoshop to remove the background and for dodging and burning. Open in Silver Effex pro. for B&W conversion and back to Photoshop to add a solid color layer. This time I decided to add a texture layer. Question, does the texture layer add to or subtract from the image?

This is a fun still-life! I like the treatment but I think the texture makes it a bit busy and detracts from the composition; if I may suggest, consider the original image with a bit more contrast and a subtle vignette. Also, think about whether the frog belongs with the other items thematically? Posted: 11/01/2026 18:37:20
