About the Image(s)
During September I visited the Greek Island of Paros. One morning we spotted fishermen hanging fresh octopus on their boats. That evening we returned to sample the grilled appetizer. My first time eating octopus; the texture was reminiscent of shrimp; the meat had little flavor - but the marinade/grilling was fantastic! Worth trying it (at least once) - if you can get it fresh. I rarely photograph my food - but couldn't resist.
iphone images, minor basic edits in LR.

The image has so much color and texture. The image is sharp. You can really see the suckers. Not sure I would want to eat that, but Ido not experiment with my food!!!!   Posted: 10/04/2025 20:27:32
Thanks Cindy. I'm also usually not usually adventurous with food . . . glad I tried this; my son was with me - perhaps he was my motivation/strength.   Posted: 10/05/2025 17:09:30
I've never tried food photography, but I can see why this appealed to you. Kudos to you for experimenting! Children, even when they are grown, are part of what keeps us young. As are cameras, I find.   Posted: 10/06/2025 17:06:19
Steven, what a very nice food image. You make me hungry as I view it. Yes, I would eat it. I love all kinds of sea food. But, as much as I love the octopus image, it is the lemon that makes this image for me.   Posted: 10/10/2025 20:44:32
Very nice food photo! I really like the color scheme with the red octopus and bright yellow lemon. The sharpness of the food is excellent. My only suggestion is to experiment with removing the knife blade...one one hand I think it adds to the story line. On the other it seems to take away my focus from the food. I'm not sure how I feel about it. Some "food" for thought...   Posted: 10/11/2025 21:07:31
Thanks Dale . . . I also wonder about the knife. I didn't set this image up or give it thought - just enjoyed the scene and had my iPhone in my shirt pocket. If I were to set this up in the future - agree it's worth considering silverware vs. not? And if yes - which pieces, how much of them, where, etc.   Posted: 10/12/2025 11:39:58

Nice image, as your colleagues told you.
But, yum, yum, fresh grilled octopus!   Posted: 10/12/2025 02:47:58
