Autumn in Florida by Susan Pellegrino

November 2026 - Autumn in Florida

About the Image(s)

Our true autumn doesn’t truly begin until mid-to-late November, but we’ve had some cooler days and the park near my house is showing more yellow and less green.

I adjusted with an autumn preset in mobile Lightroom so the color on the screen more closely matches what I saw with my eyes.

Hi Susan - glad cooler weather has arrived in Florida. I see more yellow/less green; the autumn present did a great job! The path is a good leading line - that guides the viewer through the image. One suggestion is to use light to help with that. We tend to go to the brightest parts of the image. In your image - the foreground is brighter than the middle - and keeps pulling the viewers' gaze away from where the path is leading. In the example below - I darkened the foreground, slightly brightened the center and also added a vignette at the corners. To my eye, all these things help focus viewers' attention along the path to the distant center of the frame.   Posted: 11/01/2026 20:32:54

Thanks for the edit. I see what you're saying. I'm always afraid to use vignette because I tend to overdo it. You used it very effectively.

Now I'm thinking maybe I could have cropped it closer to the base of the tree?   Posted: 11/01/2026 22:04:12
