About the Image(s)
Here is a cell image taken from a restaurant during an overcast day here on the Central Coast of CA. Initially I was attracted to the soft silhouettes of the gazebo, palms, and roosting pelicans on a bluff. Suddenly,a pelican took off between the palm trees. Though somewhat soft, I liked the depth between the bird and structures in this monochromatic scene .

My initial reaction was - "what is that flying object" . . . closer study reveals the legs/wings and answers my question. I see the artistic vibe; for me I'd rather have more detail/color/sharpness.   Posted: 10/14/2025 10:05:04
Wayne, this is a interesting image. One will take a second look at this image to see what it is. The BG of fog covered gazebo and palm trees is good; wish there was more to identify the bird. Most of all, its great that you had the camera ready to get such a shot...   Posted: 10/14/2025 14:53:24
Hi Wayne,
It's an intriguing image! It has a mysterious, strange, and complex quality that holds my attention, makes me want to look closer and think about it.
I'd prefer to see the pelican a bit clearer and sharper since it lacks of details and its flying position with the left wing folded and the right wing open make the subject hard to recognize. Thanks for sharing your shot!   Posted: 10/22/2025 05:28:56
