About the Image(s)
Grand Tetons last July. The intent is creating a relationship between the tree and its surroundings.
It was a tough composition as there are distractions all over and including neighbouring trees. I had to position the tripod in such an angle to hide all the distractions yet keep the background.
Camera Nikon Z09 with a Nikon 24-120mm zoom lens @f11; S 1/1250 ; iso 400 ; Aperture mode ; Grad ND filter and tripod. lens set @ B&W 100mm focal length.
The color version of the pic is showing on group 36

Hi Adi
Another well done image. The bold silhouette of the tree captures the eye and a moment later…."Oh - the mountains!". Interesting how you achieved near 100% shadow in the foreground but presented a more narrow tonal range in the mountains. It makes for a nice contrast. The three distinct layers - tree, mountains, clouds gives depth to the image.   Posted: 10/12/2025 12:36:15

This is a lovely image, Adi.
I can see that achieving your intended composition was no mean feat.
The tonality is great, but I would like to see a bit more detail in the tree trunk - similar to (but not necessarily as much as) the rocks in the foreground.
Thank you for sharing.
