About the Image(s)
I was attracted to the gradations of light as they evolved quickly highlighting this lone rig and oyster trap.
This image was captured handheld using a Canon R5 and EF 24-70 f/2.8 L lens with CPL. B&W conversion was done in PSE via gradient map.

Hi Elsie, hope you are well.
Another scene that benefits from using more open space in defining a sense of "place". The soft overall lighting is calming. I do however have one criticism: I wish the boats were set more to one side ... and in this case perhaps bias to the left of the frame, but not necessarily so.
"Points to Ponder"
In this case, they are only slightly biased to the right-side of the frame that may trigger a little visual unbalance. Of course, you can alter the composition by cropping out most of the left-side frame, but then the "vastness" the boats float on is lost.

Hi Lance
It is nice to hear from you. Thank you for your comments.
I too preferred the boat to be off center; but when I attempted that composition, I lost my preferred angle of light. I will reinvestigate this, though.

Hi Elsie
Yes, I agree with Lance. Also, IF it had been possible, perhaps a somewhat higher vantage point so as to eliminate the boom coinciding with the horizon line?   Posted: 10/21/2025 23:52:20
