About the Image(s)
Originals 1,2, and 3 are in fact Transformations
Shot with an Olympus OM 1, 90mm Olympus lens, 1/30 sec at f/ 11, ISO 1000, hand held.
There is a Dahlia garden maintained by the Dahlia Society outside of Washington, DC in the Agricultural History Farm Park, a Montgomery County MD park. Amazing collection of Dahlias.
I’ve been having too much fun transforming them with the Selection Brush Tool. Three (of 135!) are included here.

Nice colors and composition. To be real picky - I think I'm seeing a thin string-like maybe a piece of a spider web (?) coming from the lower right leaf to the stem. True nature would prohibit removal I guess.
Of the experiments, I like #2 the best but they are all good. I'll have to look at the selection brush tool. I'm way behind in all the new stuff in LR and PS.   Posted: 10/05/2025 04:20:10

Doug, you've outdone yourself, 4 beautiful images from One Shot. But on the other hand you've shown what the selection brush can accomplish. I am completely unaware and must confess to not using any brushes. I know it must be placed on my tooodo list. Transformation #2 is my favorite. All very well done.   Posted: 10/10/2025 00:38:32
Hi Doug, what lovely creations and all from one flower. I can't choose a favourite as they are all equally lovely. Well done and I really can't add any suggestions.   Posted: 10/19/2025 09:23:39
Hi Doug - this is a beautiful flower and you have done an excellent job in capturing it's beauty - both from the front and the back. On your primary submission, the only (very picky) suggestions I would make are to eliminate the three small black dots in the middle area, and maybe to remove the spider web. Of your other alternatives, I really like the middle one the best. It almost looks art deco and is a very dramatic presentation.   Posted: 10/19/2025 19:09:29
Wow, it's like I'm back in the sixties again! Far out! Love all four of them. Agree with Ingrid that removing the bug and the black spot would cap off a beautiful rendition.   Posted: 10/21/2025 00:24:36
Hi Doug,
Greetings my friend.
You have made a wonderful transformation of the original. But I like the final outcome of the edit. The light and colors are really vibrating and complementing here. The blurry background is really added to the scene.
Thank you for sharing.
Cheers.
