About the Image(s)

I took this photo in a museum in Paris this May. The red sofa in the space caught my eye, I processed the photo into a minimalist style. It was taken using my Sony a7IV camera, with Sony FE 24-105mm f/4 G OSS Lens, ISO 1600, f/4, 1/160 sec. Post processing was done using Lightroom and Photoshop. The original photo is attached.

Very minimalist. Those couches could have come from IKEA! I do like the color and the woman gives the photo a sense of scale.   Posted: 07/13/2026 23:30:57

You have an interesting concept here. Your removal of the person to the right, straightening the image, and intensifying the red were good choices. I think the image would be strengthened by removing the green post, black railing and black wall to the left. That would place the subject in pure white without contest and would thereby strengthen the minimalist affect.   Posted: 07/16/2026 23:53:37

I do have an all cleaned version. It's like the red sofas are floating. Haven't found a better way, may try to find a suitable background or have to give it up.

Yan, I love the cleaned version. The floating impression makes the image minimalist and sureal. The image now sparks my imagination. I love it. Never give up. You have it!

Art is of course very subjective. I prefer the floating version.   Posted: 07/18/2026 18:45:43
