About the Image(s)

I shot this along the coast of Vietnam, using a drone to capture the lively daily routine of local fishermen from above. In Camera Raw, I brightened up the fish inside the basket boat to make it pop, and deepened the blue of the sea to enhance the color contrast. I also cropped and slightly rotated the image to leave out other photographers in the frame.

I like your decision to crop in on the scene. It's colorful and interesting. The ocean reads as believable, so that was a good choice to darken it. There is a bit of yellow-greenish water in the sandy beach water below the boat, so I would clean that up a bit.

I see a brightly colored boat or tub(?) and people around it, but I had to read it several times before I realized those were fish. They seem to be a bit bright. I've never sen this type of fishing before, perhaps its more common in Vietnam and similar places.

I'm not sure what to suggest. I do like the extra people on the right leading us to the boat, so I don't think I would crop them out, as they add a lot. Perhaps others will have some suggestions.

My only suggestion would be to crop a bit more off the bottom so that the boat is not centered.

I have the same comment as Kathryn: crop the bottom. Additionally, I would remove the people from the right to draw your audience's attention to the groups of people looking at their catches of the day without other distractions.   Posted: 11/01/2026 16:39:08
