This is a Stapelia plant, also known as a corpse flower which comes from South Africa. It’s our house plant. The flowers are about 30cm (12in)inches across.
I photographed it with a flash and a diffuser. We have lots of exotic plants like this.

I've seen the large Corpse plant, Titan arum, before, but I haven't seen this one before. I like how the petals spread out like starfish. Good on you to photograph your exotic plants!
It seems dark on my screen, I'd like to see it lightened. I'd keep the table dark and the back "cactus" as is, and just bring the flowers out a bit more. They are very interesting, since they all go different ways.   Posted: 11/01/2026 01:32:44

I differ from Brenda in that I would like to see the table a bit lighter but not as light as the original - brings out the color of the flowers a bit more.   Posted: 11/01/2026 16:07:22
What an interesting plant, which I have never seen before. I agree with Brenda about lightening up the flowers, but I wouldn't bother to lighten the table.   Posted: 11/01/2026 16:50:00
