About the Image(s)
This photo was taken in Inner Mongolia, China, on a cold morning. I used a Sony 100??“400mm f/4.5??“5.6 lens, with settings of 1/400 sec, f/32, ISO 4000.
In Camera Raw, I brightened the overall lighting, enhanced the light on the ground, and added a touch of blue to the sky.
The temperature was around ??“15?C. I’m not sure whether these shooting settings and the chosen composition are appropriate. I’d greatly appreciate your feedback and advice.

I really like how you processed this. What is the dark spot on the tree? While my eye was being drawn to the sun burst it landed on that spot and then I couldn't unsee it. The enhanced light on the ground works as I can see more detail in the background and the tree.   Posted: 10/10/2025 22:56:34
I do not know what is the dark spot in the tree, I will take that off. Thanks for your suggestions.   Posted: 10/16/2025 01:29:57
I would have metered directly on the Sun using the smallest aperture that the lens will allow. Then I would have pulled up the brightness of the foreground in post processing. Otherwise it's an interesting shot.   Posted: 10/12/2025 04:41:27

It is a beautiful and serene image. I have the same comments as above. The foreground could brighten up more, and the black dot could be removed to reduce the distraction.   Posted: 10/12/2025 16:19:47
Yes, thanks for your suggestions.   Posted: 10/16/2025 01:30:27
Beautiful shot! The mood and lighting are great. That said, f/32 and ISO 4000 might have added some grain and softness-something like ISO 1000 and f/16 could've given you cleaner, sharper results. Still, a very striking image!   Posted: 10/17/2025 00:38:36
Pei-Fan, apologies for not getting your image posted right away. Completely my fault.
I love the image! There are three or four dots in the sky, some birds. I'd consider removing them since they don't look like birds.
Using Dehaze on the image could make it much more clear and crisp. But it would remove the ephemeral quality of your image.   Posted: 10/17/2025 23:35:46

Technically, this is a diffucult shot and subject. If you make the foreground brighter, you are in danger of making it feel unreal, somewhat like one of the images we had one or two months ago. Instead of making the foreground brighter, what about going in the other direction and darker? I tried it, and I liked the result.
Near the center of your image are three ghost flares from internal reflections in your camera that could be removed.   Posted: 10/23/2025 19:54:36
