About the Image(s)
1/200, f/13, ISO 4000 at 150 mm (FF)
Picture taken at 9:11 PM May 23rd, important for the light. A rose from the front yard of my neighbor. I saw the light, I took my camera and spent some time with the flowers. I find the colors just great (Thanks Nature).
I think this is the month of the roses...
LR: correction of noise and Auto selection. I change the format from 3:2 to 4:3. I tried the square format but I wanted to keep more space around the flower. I used a mask of the background and decrease the light a little, but a lot the texture and clarity to soften this background.

Hi Vincent: A perfect Rose flower to photograph against a natural out of focus background in soft lighting. Glad you darkened down the background somewhat, I think you could even darken it down even more than you have. In doing so would make the Rose flower stand out even more than it does now.   Posted: 10/06/2025 16:17:00
I'd second what Murphy stated. The color is so vibrant that tiny bit of a darker BG would make it even pop more.   Posted: 10/06/2025 16:32:17
Thanks Murphy and Mo.
I was too cautions with the advice received (not completely darken the background )... I agree it could be more darkened in this case.   Posted: 10/23/2025 10:56:46

Vincent, this is great. Lovely warm colors, almost iridescent. Agree with the guys about the background, as far as typical technical preference goes. That being said it does depend how an image is used, right? Brochure inset images, when there is a lot of text on a page work well with a similar approach to this, also full bleed greetings cards. I also think that a darker background would be better. Otherwise,I have nothing to say except that the rose flower is beautiful and well shot.   Posted: 10/15/2025 15:50:25
