The image was taken in Salzburg, Austria while on a river cruise in Europe. We were on a walking tour through the city and I was captivated by the rivers and canals in the city. This location was on a bridge over one of the canals and was an example of how important water was in previous times with homes, mills, and all kinds of businesses built right on the water. I’ve been working on capturing wider scenes rather than my usual zooming in on a particular subject or object and in this case wanted to capture a broader scene that could reflect the age of the buildings and the primary role of the waterways.
I took the image with a Canon R5, Canon RF24-105 lens at 29mm, ISO 100, f/22, and 1/13 second exposure to help with the water and reflections. I used Lightroom for post processing using a slight crop and masks for shadows and highlights, as well as texture and clarity adjustments.
Thanks,

Curved leading lines always add interest to an image - and here you have a beauty - this technically and compositionally well done!   Posted: 10/09/2025 19:30:45

Beautiful image and place! You have done a fantastic job showing the architecture and total environment. I love to take images of scenes like this...it speaks to the older architecture as well as life style in an earlier age. And despite the gloomy skies...you managed the lighting perfectly. Well executed ..Congrats!   Posted: 10/16/2025 16:16:37

Gary - great image, everything is balanced and you selected a wonderful location for taking the photo. Maybe this is the start of a coffee table book of places you have been. Keep taking those wider images. Ray   Posted: 10/18/2025 01:45:16
