About the Image(s)

Taken on San Juan Island in Puget Sound three years ago. I did not do much PP but did add a white vignette. I hope it is ok to include a vignette.. The foxes live quite near homes so are tolerant of people.

Stunning image of the two cubs!! The blurred foreground and background really bring them fully into the image.
Well done!!   Posted: 10/12/2025 15:18:25

Bruce - this is lovely. I very much like your timing with one having a scratch and the other looking out. Lovely colours. Intering that you have used a lighter vignette - it certainly helps the keep the eye in, but I'm unsure due to the brightness at the edge.   Posted: 10/13/2025 12:20:37

Bruce, what a beauty this couple of young foxes. In pure nature salons, vignetting is not allowed. I thought it was more a front and back bokeh when shooting @ 1120 mm (800 + 1.4xTC)so I do not think the vignette is adding anything but distraction.   Posted: 10/15/2025 18:54:05

Thanks Issac, Looks like the nays have it, no vignette needed. Bruce   Posted: 10/23/2025 03:18:38

Wonderful capture of these two kits Bruce! Nice background and foreground softening too. I do find the lighter vignette a little distracting though.   Posted: 10/18/2025 19:48:47

Thanks Karen, I was not sure about adding the vignette, looks like it is a miss and not allowed in pure nature category. Bruce   Posted: 10/23/2025 03:20:07

Fantastic image Bruce! The colors are fantastic and the foxes are impossibly cute. With this one picture, I can imagine an hour of their play. The vignetting works for me because it pushes my eye towards the cubs in the center. Would be interesting to see a version though without the vignetting.   Posted: 10/20/2025 10:17:19

Hi Bruce,
What a lovely capture of this pair of cubs! The vignette helps focus attention on the little foxes, and their behaviour adds great interest to the image. My only regret is that it isn't mine!   Posted: 10/21/2025 10:43:16

Hi Bruce -
Such a great capture of these adorable cubs. I like the white vignette; draws attention even more to the sharp details of image, specially the lovely and facial expressions.   Posted: 10/21/2025 18:53:11
