About the Image(s)
I took this image on a hike at a nearby park last year. This little Carolina wren was just singing so beautifully and really showing his stuff! I’m afraid I don’t have the camera settings information (because I forgot to write them down and, as usual, I am traveling).

Karen beautiful bird giving you a serenate for sure. Sharp in spite of the magnum crop. Nice colors. I feel that the vegetation in front of the bird overpowers it and becomes distracting.   Posted: 10/10/2025 18:56:49
Very sharp image of a lovely bird. I love the details and the texture. Perhaps, more blurring of the leaves and branches will make them less distracting.   Posted: 10/10/2025 19:49:06
Thank you Isaac and Maria - absolutely the foliage could us more of a blur. Thank you for that suggestion.   Posted: 10/18/2025 19:44:12
Great shot. You can tell he's happy singing. Make it square to exclude the foliage is an option while still leaving enough space ahead of 'him'   Posted: 10/19/2025 12:07:27
Hi Karen - This image falls in one of my favorite classes. I really admire great photos of ordinary subjects. A photograph of something unusual, say an elephant, can be great because of the subject even if the photography choices were not particularly good. But a photograph of an ordinary subject will only be great if the photography is great and this one is. [Carolina Wrens are "ordinary subjects" for me because they are so common where I live.] I tend to agree with what others have said about the greenery on the left side.   Posted: 10/20/2025 10:26:03
Hi Karen,
I have a similar wren here in the north of Spain, we call it Chochín, and it always makes my day when I spot one. They're great singers and move constantly. I love the detail in your image and the subtle colours. I also agree with the suggestion to remove the green leaves, as they compete with the bird for attention.   Posted: 10/21/2025 11:02:15
