This scene is in the eastern Sierra of California; I was there in August with a few friends. This photo was taken in the evening hours. I liked the dramatic towering mountains in the background. It was taken with my Canon 24-105mm lens at 105mm. Post processing includes saturation, increase contrast, some dehaze and increase highlights.

Spring, wouldn't change a thing. Really like the way the clouds on the right balance the mountains on the left. The valley pulls you right through it towards the mountains. Outstanding! Posted: 10/11/2025 20:04:44

Thank you for commenting. Maybe I should say this is taken in the late afternoon/early evening around 6ish. It was August and the sun doesn't go down until around 8 or so. So it was really naturally this bright. Posted: 10/23/2025 23:16:50
Spring, I echo Tom's comments this is a spectacular scenery well captured. The colors are well balanced and everything convey the feeling of beauty of this place. Well done.

I agree that this is a spectacular image. To me, the grass seems a little over-saturated and unnatural. The color of the sky also seems off, more a cyan, than a deep blue that you find in the mountains. Both of these are easy adjustments, if they appeal to your taste. Posted: 10/16/2025 01:00:13
Thank you for commenting. The yellow grass and flowers are actually pretty much that color; I just added a tiny bit of saturation with the original image shot in raw. I think the late afternoon sun brings out the yellow colors more. I agree with you that maybe I did overdo the sky a little bit when I adjusted the blue in the color mixer in Lightroom. I love the color and composition in this image. There is a nice foreground, middle ground and background in the image, which gives it a lot of depth. The long shadows on the mountains bring out the details and the nice grouping of clouds on the right nicely balance it out, at the same time giving it some drama.
