About the Image(s)

This is from my January 2026 visit to Paris. Mis-Tic is a Parisian hero of street art, and her art is either covered by a screen or is never defaced, such is her reputation years after her death. This piece is in the Latin Quarter down from the Pantheon. My French friends have offerred several translations “What is it that youth has to get out of its system?” but colloquially the one I like is “girls will be girls”

I am hoping to use in PTDW sections of salons…

I like the juxtaposition of the woman and the art, the latter of which with its quote seems to me to be the main subject. I am glad you told the story of the artist.
I sent the text into Google Translate and got "Youth must have its fling," but I did that with no question mark. When I added the question mark, I got "Youth must have its fling--but at what cost?" How much was added by the question mark!   Posted: 07/12/2026 04:58:06

This is a great street photography shot and you are to be congratulated for getting the street art and the walker in just the right spots. I suspect you took a burst of shots and picked the best one. Well done.   Posted: 07/17/2026 01:19:27

My attention is drawn to the long stride length! I think you have captured just enough of her face to create interest. a great street photography subject.   Posted: 07/17/2026 18:54:09
