About the Image(s)
This image was taken at an Equestrian Center, unfortunately during the brightest part of the day. Also, I took this before I knew to shoot in RAW, so it is a .jpg! As you can see, there was so much shadow and also overhead brightness so I had to do a lot of post-processing. I took this before I knew anything about Lightroom!
I took it into LR, dropped highlights and opened shadows, and I counted over 40 adjustments I made, including radial gradients in various places. I masked the subject and dropped the background exposure to make it dark. I wanted to create a "Portrait" effect. Then I took the photo into Photoshop and used Topaz Black & White to create the final image, doing my best to smooth out the shadows on her face, make sure the highlights on the horse weren't too bright, and because the background was so dark I put a very small gray frame around the photo. This was quite a challenge for me.
I took the Photo with a Nikon D7000, lens 18-70, 3.5-4.5, and shot it at ISO 200, 1/200 sec., F 8, at 40 mm.
