About the Image(s)
Here is the original and main photos for October titled “Dancing Gracefully."
I took this photo at an outdoor concert. He was dancing, so I titled it to reflect that. It was an overcast day, so I had to brighten the photo first. Adjusted colors and light with Adobe Camera Raw, added pro contrast, and did a light blue fill in the background.
I am still not happy with the background, so any suggestions are appreciated. I would like to put in a contest in the people category. Is it strong enough for that? Does it have enough impact? Thanks everyone!

Rita,
This is an attention-capturing image, so yes, I would say it has impact. I would not have guessed this person was dancing from the position you captured, however, so perhaps a different title would be better. You have done a nice job lightening the original and bringing out the colorful nature of the hat, shirt, and tattoos. The skin tones look realistic as well. I agree the color of the background is not quite right yet. Perhaps a complementary color to the pink or purple, which would be or some shade of muted green or yellow?   Posted: 10/10/2025 02:26:34

I agree with all of Diana's comments, Rita, including the title.
You did a great job lighting the image and bringing out the colors and details such as the tattoos. His bent finger adds to the interest. I find myself wondering about him and his background + lifestyle.
A different background color would be beneficial. Great job-it should do well in your "People" category. Good luck!   Posted: 10/13/2025 20:14:03

This is a sharp portrait of a man with many interesting features and colors. I wonder how he injured the finger of his right hand. The background is not distrcting, which is good, but neither is it provide any context. It looks like a studio background. The pose is more "praying like" than dancing to me.   Posted: 10/26/2025 20:28:37
