Bruce, another great football image (I just checked the origin of the word soccer: The word "soccer" originated in 19th-century England as a piece of university slang. It was coined at Oxford University to distinguish "association football", the sport governed by the newly formed Football Association from "rugby football", often nicknamed "rugger". The "-er" Slang: British university students had a habit of shortening words and adding "-er" to the end. They took the "assoc" from Association, turning it into "assoccer", which was eventually shortened to simply "soccer" ), and as I said to Ronald, with the world cup going on, everybody is paying attention. Hi Bruce. Yes, as others have said, another fine action shot; all is just about perfect. The only small issue I have, and I assume you have applied Topaz AI Photo, is that the program has tried to recover the face of a spectator on the right side wearing a lime/green shirt. You can see the man has a moustache, beard, and is wearing glasses. This issue was pointed out to me by my brother-in-law, who is on a rules committee for the Australian Photographic Society, he said judges were picking up on the Topaz photo. I have used Topaz quite a lot and I notice that if a spectator is even half blurred Topaz will try and Face Recover. It can give your photo a strange look on a persons face i.e. one spectator in partial focus person sitting next to him out of focus.   Posted: 07/17/2026 00:17:15
