About the Image(s)
I wanted to try experimenting with focus stacking to get an idea what my working distance is when using f8, which is supposed to be the sharpest stop for my Sony 90mm macro lens. Grabbed some odds 'n ends from the workbench. This photo is a composite of 15 images. I thought I would be able to get everything in focus but not so, as it turned out. As you can see, focus drops off on the screwdriver. So I've got a good idea now what my working distance is for use on other subjects. Shot with my Sony a6500, ISO 200, f8, 1.3 sec.

I applaud you for experimenting with focus stacking - 15 images -Wow! I have not tried it yet. I don't mind that the screw driver fell off. I think it makes the depth of field interesting and everything else is very sharp and focused, including the reflections. Nicey done and I don't have any suggestions for improvement.   Posted: 10/09/2025 16:07:35
This shot has a cool industrial vibe - the shiny metal parts and reflective surface make it feel polished and precise. The yellow screwdriver adds a nice pop of color against the dark background.   Posted: 10/21/2025 13:12:59
I really love the result you got from focus stacking - I must give it a go. Great inspiration - and a wonderful image.   Posted: 10/23/2025 03:10:48
