Door Knocker by Tom McCreary, APSA, MPSA

October 2025 - Door Knocker

About the Image(s)

This was taken in Southern Louisiana at one of the river plantations. They had beautiful grounds with several old statues, fountains, and of course the plantation house and some other buildings. This was on one of the other buildings. I like the color of the oxidized door knocker against the wood grains of the door. And of course the unique shape of the door knocker as a fist. It was taken with a Nikon 18-200mm lens at 112mm, 1/40th second, f5.3 and ISO 200.

So sharp and in focus. Technically excellent with nice clarity, textures, color and exposure.   Posted: 10/09/2025 16:08:50

The detail in this old-fashioned door knocker is fantastic. The contrast between the aged metal and the warm wood gives it a slightly mysterious charm.   Posted: 10/21/2025 13:14:40

What a wonderful door knocker! You've created an excellent image, sharp, and with good colour toning.   Posted: 10/23/2025 03:12:16
