My camera club did a field trip to Yosemite which is about 1 1/2 hour drive from where I live.
While many of them were shooting photos of the falls, El Cap, and Half Dome I found these 3 mushrooms on the ground near the river.
It was a chore to get my old body in position to try and capture them from the ground. I did not have my macro lens with me but shot it with my 24-70 lens on my Nikon Z8 camera w f4.
All editing was completed in Photoshop and NIK.

This is a lovely image of 3 mushrooms. The image is sharp and clear and while it's not macro I feel like it is almost macro because I can see all the underside parts of the mushrooms so clearly as if I can reach out and touch it. I can also see a water drop on the middle mushroom. I like the selective focus of the background.

Sometimes the objests of beauty are right in front of you rather than a far away vista. Nice job. I was wondering if a darker background might be good. I'm not sure but here it is. Posted: 07/16/2026 14:15:19

Lori, I love your edit and lighting with the mushrooms so sharp and highlighted and the great light on them. The vignette is wonderful and cropping out some of the foreground left just enough sticks to keep my eye moving into the image. Posted: 07/19/2026 13:47:12
