About the Image(s)

I took this photo more than 5 years ago. I loved the subject matter but didn't know how to edit the photo until I uploaded NIK.

I did the original editing in Photoshop and converted it to monochrome. If you think the photo is busy you should see it in color. Check out the original. I then opened NIK in Photoshop and added silver effects. If you look closely, you will see the couple reflection in the van to the left.

Lori, this is a very interesting street scene. I like what you did in monochrome and I hope you don't mind that I took the liberty to play with your color image which is also super. The road serves as leading lines that draw the viewer's eye from the couple and cars to the bay and hill area, giving a sense of depth and mystery. This image has great visual impact and interest.   Posted: 10/12/2025 14:00:26

This is a very impactful street image with the leading line of the street leading down the hill. I also really like that from where you were standing you not Only captured the couple on the street but their reflection in the van. That is wonderful. The streets are textured and I think that lends well for a black and white image as well as the architecture. You've done a great job with the B&W. That said, I also like Tom Buckard's color image. You have to have a good image to start with and you did a great job.   Posted: 10/19/2025 20:52:04

Lori, This is an excellent image, both in color and monotone. I really think both varieties have great value, including the one by Tom. I'm partial to street scenes and this is a gem, with reflections, leading lines and two delightful subjects.   Posted: 10/20/2025 13:22:06

Lori, I absolutely enjoyed your black and white shot. I wouldn't change it, though Tom did a nice edit, I really prefer yours. Architecture and street scenes lend themselves to b&w and you did a great job. The original was so dark,(probably done purposelyin camera) I think you got everything out of it so it's sharp, shows the incredible depth and has so many fun places for the eye to go. I'm inspired to try some street scenes now.   Posted: 10/21/2025 20:41:29
