About the Image(s)
Pick Your Poison was inspired by The Woman Who Painted the Seasons, a historical novel about the lives of Jackson Pollock and his wife, Lee Krasner. Pollock was an extraordinarily talented and successful Abstract Expressionist who ultimately self-destructed.
While going through some old files, I came across these images and suddenly realized why I had chosen to combine them. Their story had stayed with me, even though I hadn’t consciously made the connection until well into creating the image. Funny how that happens.
Lots of pen tool, cutting and pasting, blending modes. I like starting with a gradient background and see where it ends up.
