About the Image(s)
I thought I would share something different this month. I have done many workshops with Darrell Gulin who is a Canon Explorer of Light, leader of workshops, etc. In our workshops we would do an afternoon of still life photography. At one workshop we photographed beautiful cut rocks. I wish I knew the name of this one but alas I don't. Photographed in 2018 with my then Canon 5D Mark IV, Canon 180 macro lens on a tripod. ISO 400, f/16, 1.5 sec with Ev +0.50. I had to clean up the black background and a few spots in the rock. Added dynamic contrast, increased exposure and increased the vibrance and clarity a bit.

Just plain gorgeous. The only suggestion I can think of is to remove the small white streak in the center of the stone.   Posted: 11/01/2026 12:18:34
