About the Image(s)
There were 2 (juvenile) Bobcats looking through our living room door so grabbed my camera and went outside carefully trying not to disturb them. Managed to get a few shots of this one before he jumped off the deck. They have been sighted in our neighbourhood since last winter but this was the first I have seen them. Canon R5 with 100-400mm lens 1/400 F5.6 ISO3200. Ran it through Topaz Denoise then moved the sliders in LR. Cropped in a bit closer.

The cat's expression tells the tale. He seems to be thinking "I was only exploring - " I love the colors in the fur. Great detail in the face, and wonderful bokeh in the background. I would try to darken the background as is tends to pull my attention from the cat. This image should be on a wall.   Posted: 10/05/2025 21:08:16
Thanks Judith...will darken the background more.   Posted: 10/10/2025 16:17:15
Whoa! What an awesome photo op! If I understand you correctly, you shot this through a pane of glass. Well done in my opinion. The subject is in focus, th eyes are sharp and lifelike and the pose looks very natural. Too bad he was on the deck railing but we can't have everything. To me this image is a keeper. I wish something like that would look in my window.   Posted: 10/11/2025 16:02:26
WOW what an opportunity. It pays to always have a camera ready. Everything looks very sharp. You captured the best moment of him looking back at you and with one paw raised ready to make his escape. Nice little highlight in the eyes. I hope you get more opportunities to photograph this wonderful little bobcat. Well done!   Posted: 10/18/2025 22:19:20
What a treat to see a bobcat. This is a fun image of a very healthy young bobcat. The cautious look he is giving you is a great capture. My only suggestion is to consider making a mask and brushing the red-railing and lower the exposure level. I think that the cat and the green background are perfect.   Posted: 10/20/2025 17:20:53
Great capture. The look an the face and the eyes with the catch light are really great. I think the suggestions to darken the greens in the background a bit and lessen the red railing would really sharpen this image and making the bobcat really pop. Again nice capture.   Posted: 10/23/2025 16:47:50
I would get on a plane for a chance to get this image. Love it. No suggestions.   Posted: 10/23/2025 21:42:42
