About the Image(s)
I was at a horse event several weeks ago and walking through the stable area I can upon this young lady eating her lunch and her horse begging for a morsel. I asked if I could take their picture and she obliged. Cropped to a vertical and minimal editing in the photo’s app. Taken with my iPhone 17Pro.

A really nice warm photo in difficult lighting. While there is a sort of general rule about not cutting off the hands or feet of your human subject, it isn't a problem here even though it is noticed.   Posted: 07/02/2026 17:29:13
I like the young woman's smile and the way the horse has reached down to ask for a bite of food. The horse's marking points down to the desired object, too. I know very little about horses, but I think they are amazing animals, so this image appeals to me.
The lighting situation was difficult. I wonder how the iPhone would do if you used the flash - as in "fill-in flash." I wonder if it might have evened the highlights across the image. Of course, the horse might not have reacted well!

I really love this photograph as it beautifully captures the love/companionship between young woman and her horse. I would have definitely given the apple to the horse. Who could resist that begging? Charming capture of a sweet moment in time.   Posted: 07/08/2026 00:13:04
This is charming, The smile in sort of infectious while the horse is only interested in one thing. The lighting created a sort of blanket over the horse but there's nothing to about that. Cutting some off the bottom brings us closer to the food which is an important element in the image.   Posted: 07/17/2026 22:21:56
