Really great editing Robert. Everything is tack Sharp and has a reason. You must of had a way to visit a local Fire Station to get this image.   Posted: 10/06/2025 21:31:11
The local Fire Authority holds regular open houses at the stations on a rotating basis. They maintain a very positive relationship with the community. They do great work.

A very interesting image that invites us to create a story.
Is there a real one that goes with this image?   Posted: 10/07/2025 21:42:56

That's exactly why this image works for me. I think it can create the opportunity to look at the equipment and the gear, and think about all the stories that might be involved.
And let's not forget the connection of September and FDNY.

This does tell a story and the detail throughout is great. I wish the boots and "stuff" at the bottom were easier to discern.   Posted: 10/11/2025 11:15:01
I completely agree. I tried shooting from several different positions, but the stack of coveralls and boots was just too compact. It is even difficult to notice the toes of the boots without close inspection.

At first I thought the bundle was a misplaced or forgotten backpack but upon closer inspection found it was firemen gear for quick assembling. Do they literally leap into pile of clothing before rush off at alarm or was this just set up for fire department tour? Good story telling composition.   Posted: 10/13/2025 23:32:40
That's a fair question, and I don't have the answer. It might be solution for rapid deployment, but I don't know if it is standard procedure. At the next open house, I'll have to ask. The Fire Fighters are always very willing to talk about their work and equipment.

It would be fun to get the fireman in the gear standing next to the truck. Although the gear on the floor does look a little haphazard I believe that is what they do to rapidly put on the gear when the alarm sounds. The beginning of a good story.   Posted: 10/18/2025 01:00:14
Good idea! I could have asked one of the fire fighters to pose with the gear, even if he/she was just standing next to it - or reaching for it, etc. Not a smiling snapshot, but a simulated action shot. Next time...
