About the Image(s)
While out driving, I spotted this old truck sitting along the side of the road and knew it would make an interesting photograph. Fortunately, I had my infrared camera with me.
I've been experimenting with infrared photography as a way to take advantage of bright midday sunshine, a time when I would normally avoid photographing because of the harsh light and strong shadows. I tried several different angles, looking for the best composition. This low-angle perspective was my favorite because it emphasized the truck's size, strength, and rugged character. The infrared treatment brought out the textures of the weathered metal while creating a dramatic dark sky. Taken with Nikon D750 full-spectrum camera, 720 nm infrared filter, Nikon 24??“70mm f/2.8 lens. Shot at f/22, ISO 800, and 1/80 second. The image was converted to full black and white during post-processing.
