About the Image(s)

This was shot on a Leica M240 with a Tri-Elmar 14/16/21 F4 lens. I used an aperture of F5.6 to ensure the moving passengers were in focus and converted the image to monochrome to evoke an Oriental Asian aesthetic.

Sam, I really like the monochrome of this image which, I think, brings focus away from the vibrant sky and onto the two young women in the foreground. The tonal range seems good, with the young women coming towards us well lit and the figures off to the side and in the background increasingly in shadow. Your use of a wide angle (focal length?) I think gives a feeling of movement and energy to the scene.   Posted: 10/11/2025 20:40:57

Well captured...wide angle and the fact that the girls are in motion gives the image a dynamic...simple scene but well executed   Posted: 10/15/2025 11:31:08

Sam, well done; it makes the view feel they are sharing the pathway with the subjects. I took the liberty of cropping, and I now suspect the woman on the left is comparing her handbag with the woman they just passed:   Posted: 10/19/2025 20:05:00

Nice street photography and depth of field. Your image is in focus from front to back. I agree with Charles' suggestion to crop down from the top. I do wish I know what made her turn around!   Posted: 10/20/2025 16:05:25
