About the Image(s)

I travelled to my bucket list, Death Valley, and headed to photograph the beautiful sand dunes at sunset in Black & White. This is not exactly in my comfort zone.

I try to tell the story of shadows, textures and light glistening off the dunes while composing for contrasting lines of light and dark.

The color image was downloaded in LR and processed in PS with Sivler Efex 8 converting the file to black and white. I used a bit of dynamic brightness to bring more glow.

The file was saved to LR and further processed to darken the sky, raise the shadows a little and soften whites a little.

So this was just experimentation and any suggestions and comments are welcome.
