Jamie, this is a great shot! The three flowers naturally draw your eye right to the wasp as it pollinates. The background is clean and completely unobtrusive, which really helps the wasp stand out. It's incredibly sharp, and the vibrant colors make the image even more striking. I hope you weren't too close-I've been stung one too many times! Beautifully captured and very well done.   Posted: 07/02/2026 12:30:39
Thank you so much Tom! I value your critique and kind words. No… I try to stay far away from these little critters!   Posted: 07/02/2026 13:54:42
Jamie, good shot. The color really jumps out of the frame, Very sharp! I am quite inclined not to get too close to my monitor lest the wasp make note of me.....1   Posted: 07/20/2026 00:59:43

The two adjacent flowers serve as leading lines to bring my attention to the wasp. You were too close to the wasp for my comfort....truly intent on getting your shot. You did not mention how you achieved this shot. The image has a lot of depth of field which keeps the entire wasp and flowers in focus. So maybe a pretty wide angle lens and camera positioned very close to the wasp. My last wasp sting took month to completely heal. Great capture!   Posted: 07/20/2026 10:22:29
Thank you Richard! I was at a good enough distance to run!   Posted: 07/20/2026 14:11:49
