About the Image(s)

I had been trying to capture the buzzing bee with my OM1 Mark2 with the 12-100mm f4 lens at 100mm. Shutter was set at 1/4000sec, aperture 4 and iso 640. You may consider both the color and BW image. My intention is to show the image in black and white.

I would like ideas on how to decide what image would show better.

Both images are well done. My personal taste usually leans toward color, but I found this one a touch soft. I added a small touch of vibrance. Hope you like the result.   Posted: 10/04/2025 17:19:37

Richard, this is a tough one. Both images are excellent. They are cropped perfect and the position of the bee couldn't be any better. You did a good job freezing the action and having sharpness where needed. Toss-up???   Posted: 10/05/2025 13:30:07

I did raise the luminance of the blacks a bit as they were slightly crushed. It is a toss up!   Posted: 10/07/2025 11:52:01

Richard, I do like the black and white better. There is something about this treatment that has appeal to me. The subject is sharp. The exposure is very good as is the composition. Nice work.   Posted: 10/12/2025 20:12:48

my vote is with the black and white. The flowers stand out and makes the bee nice and sharp. well done!

Spectacular image. Sharp. Crips. I feel like I am right in the action watching the bee do its work.   Posted: 10/22/2025 02:21:56
