About the Image(s)

This image was actually shot during the day. I was playing with Lightroom's masks and converted the image to a night scene. No AI was used except for masking selections.

I really like what you have achieved here. You have converted a record shot into a very striking image and created a sombre mood. I like the light area at the top of the main building which draws the eye through the picture. The way you have enhanced the lamp at the bottom and added a reflection on the wall adds another dimension. I don't know if you could slightly separate the top of the left building from the sky without damaging the atmosphere but if you could that may be a small improvement but as an overall image it is great.   Posted: 10/04/2025 11:51:23

Thank you, Robert. Yes, you're right about the building on the left blending in with the sky. I'll try to lighten the building a little.   Posted: 10/05/2025 00:23:16

Wow! What an amazing transformation. This is a real winner. I see what Robert is saying, but the building on the left doesn't bother me. I think if you lightened it, it would compete with your main subject. My only suggestion is to remove the light on the building on the left. I really love this. Excellent job.   Posted: 10/06/2025 01:01:19

Thank you, Cindy. I wasn't sure about the small light on the left. Of course, I added the glow in the light. But, now that I look at the image with fresh eyes, it does appear to be a little distracting.   Posted: 10/07/2025 00:36:00

Very nice transition, David. I like the subtle crop and the dark transition, and how it seems to have elongated the buildings (at least to my eye). I also think the lighting effects are superb, although I agree with the others that the light on the left side building does not enhance the image. I would drop it. Perfectly placed "moonglow" over the corner of the building makes it look like you used Photopills, then waited 4 years, 32 days and six hours to get just the perfect alignment. :>)   Posted: 10/14/2025 19:33:47

Thank you, Paul. I just noticed that the title of my image is incorrect. It should have been, "Urban Nightscape."   Posted: 10/14/2025 22:29:42
