My discussion (dialogue) with Andrew this month made me think of this image. This was my friend Marvin Ginsberg.
Marvin fought in WW II and then went to work with NSA. What a bright friend to have! I took some photos of him and
Most were color digital. I took a few with my Pentax Infrared conversion. So, this was an intentional Infrared portrait.
Available light from a window. F 9, 1/125th second. ISO 200. Pentax K7 (converted to B&W Infrared). Pentax 50 mm F 1.4 prime lens.

Well done Mark. I really like this portrait you have given us this month. Marvin looks like he has seen a lot and is reflecting on days gone by. You have done well to expose this one perfectly. I am not sure I would have guessed it was IR if you did not tell us. You have nice detail everywhere, a great pose and sharp (yet soft skin, must be the IR) focus. There you go again using IR for a portrait. It gives the best B&W Tones. The contemplative pose, formal looking white jacket, shirt and bow tie give the impression of him being a Thinker and Professorial. The light and shading give a pleasing soft look to his face and by contrast and draw attention to his eyes. Amazing for having window light. I think you professionally captured your friend.
