About the Image(s)
This image was inspired by my recent Machu Picchu trek. The mountains were spectacular after a downpour. One of the porters caught my eye with his blue rain tarp. Shrinking him down and placing him on top of one of the peaks created an image that felt more mysterious and without a specific message. What do you think?

Mysterious is correct! I like the original image as well. I think it would be interesting to lighten the shadows in the foreground and see the effect. Just a thought Posted: 07/08/2026 21:41:15

Good idea, but the figure appears to be very large when placed against that mountain range.The original is vey athospheric. Posted: 07/09/2026 18:31:23

Robin, Your suggestion is the opposite of Ian's. I actually liked the fact the subject became a little less obvious as I shrunk him, creating a little more mystery. If you look at another image I posted from Peru on my other site, 54, you'll see how I used just a splash of orange color to counterbalance the black and white background. Posted: 07/15/2026 21:26:21

Brad, I like that you composted a color image with the black and white background of the mountains. Maybe you could have the figure more in the foreground on one of the nearer mountains, so you could maintain at least this size. I'd hate to see him any smaller. Posted: 07/16/2026 19:08:38
