Just south of Sacramento, along the Sacramento River is the Chinese community of locke. Established In 1915 by three Chinese immigrants, Locke is the only remaining community in the United States built by Chinese immigrants for Chinese immigrants. I visited there last week for the 5th time in the last ten years. The town is very run-down and because the main businesses are built on a levy, the main part of town is built in a floodplain below. There are long walkways from main street up to the highway. The weather was very overcast.
