About the Image(s)
I was at a sunrise at the Mormon Barns at Grand Teton Park last week. I found out that Mormon Row is under construction so this image has a lot of surveyor stakes removed. I kind of like the dark treatment of the image. Probably too dark for most people.
The image was taken using my Nikon Z8, 1/400 sec at f/10, ISO 500 44mm (Nikkor Z 24-120mm f/4 S). All post processing was done in Lightroom. Lots of masks in this image!

Bob - nice! I'm not surprised you used many masks. I like the balance of shades and how you have down-played the impact of the lighter plants. This area is about the barns (with surrounding structures) and the Grand Tetons. Those two are the main focus here. I was wondering whether you had the shadow part of the mountains too dark - personal taste, but I think it is right to emphasise the sun-lit tops. There is enough detail in the shady parts to see detail.
I hadn't appreciated there were many barns below the mountains - here is a shot I took many moons ago (2010) - and there are were no fences.   Posted: 11/01/2026 12:20:21

Thanks, it is difficult to not find photo opportunities in Grand Teton National Park! The T.A Moulton barn was visible but had a lot of construction stuff around it so there was no possibility of getting a shot. Fortunately I have images from a prior trip. It really amazed me the number of tourists taking pictures this late in the year.   Posted: 11/01/2026 18:41:26
