Split Personality by Leonie Lewis

November 2026 - Split Personality

About the Image(s)

I opened the flower image and cropped it square, cutting out most of the dark area. I then used the distort filter in Photoshop to create the background. Made a second copy of the layer and masked the female onto it. I then just used the rectangular selection to select parts of the girl and moved them into place. I wanted to create an image that makes the viewer initially question what they are seeing but then feel very obvious. I named it Split Personality

Great concept, but I think you may have gone too far. IMO it would be easier to look at if there was less deviation between the layers. In 3D we use a standard of 1/30 maximum deviation for comfortable viewing. Not a strict rule, especially for 2D, but still a good guideline when converging two images.   Posted: 11/01/2026 16:35:18

I like what you have done for the background as it ties in nicely with what you have done. I think I agree with Steve that perhaps there is too much movement with the cut out pieces especially with the eyes. I like the square crop.   Posted: 11/01/2026 17:32:35
