About the Image(s)
Here is my contribution for this month, inspired by a traditional Balinese performance. Reading Jan Handman's excellent article in the October PSA Journal made me reflect on my own creativity. Sometimes I feel stuck within familiar ideas and techniques, producing what I would call postcard-style composites. Meanwhile, Jan continues to amaze me with her imagination, and our friend Angela Bonner, at 81, still surprises us with her wonderful out-of-the-box creativity. Truly inspiring!
What I enjoy most about DDG 34 is how differently we all see and interpret the world. So, this month, beyond your comments on my composite, I'd love to hear about your own creative journey. How do you break away from familiar ideas and keep your imagination growing? Perhaps the greatest reward of creative photography isn't simply producing better images, but keeping our minds curious, imaginative, and young!

I have hardly any imagination of my own and am in awe of what Jan does. Where does it all come from for her?!! I have to admit to watching loads of You Tube and Camversation videos and mainly get ideas from there. I then put my own interpretation and hope things work out. My problem is that I can get a vision in my head but very seldom am able to get it to work in PS and tend to give up!!   Posted: 11/01/2026 17:51:32
