St. Peter's Basilica Dome by Nenette Yu

October 2025 - St. Peter's Basilica Dome

About the Image(s)

I went to visit Rome in 2023 and the one place I made sure to visit was St. Peter's Basilica. This is simply stunning. This is the view from the inside of the dome. I used ISO 800, f/8 at 1/15sec.

This is a beautiful rendition - I am awed by the symmetry, the textures and detail, and the energy! What a tribute to the art of the craftsmen/women who created this!
I have no suggestions for improvement!   Posted: 10/08/2025 16:25:31

This is my bread and butter as I spend many a day photography our Cathedrals and am always seen on the floor looking up. This shows off so well why. All the best bits are up there. So well taken with great detail and the tones are spot on. You have managed all the converging angles well and it is a joy to view. Its a great monochrome image and would sit so well in my other study group. Wish I had took it.   Posted: 10/13/2025 10:01:01

You're right Nenette, this is stunning architecture with incredible detail and energy as Stan puts it.. I ditto all the previous comments. Excellent in black & white and exposure.   Posted: 10/17/2025 23:29:00

Fantastic image! The incredible detail of the ceiling is crisp and clear. And the way you shot the photo makes it look as though it could spin around, which works really well to highlight the artistry on the ceiling and keep the viewer engaged with the photo.   Posted: 10/18/2025 01:17:44

Nice abstract image, sharp and detail. Good idea converting it to monochrome. I think, you will received at least HM if you send this to PSA exhibition.   Posted: 10/22/2025 09:16:42
