About the Image(s)

An old barn in North Carolina. Canon EOS R5; 1/15 sec; f9; ISO 500, 100mm. I combined three exposures into an HDR and applied Nik CE PRO contrast to enhance color in the wood. Converted in NIK Silver effect using a blue filter to darken the green bushes and enhance the wood detail.

Hi Ed: Your composition is filled with leading lines all going in the direction to that window. I love all of the lines and textures in your image as well. Just thinking out loud & wondering if a slight vignette might be another addition to help focus on that window & help reduce some of the blank space of the wooden wall?   Posted: 10/11/2025 01:17:19

Ed - an intriguing image with so many leading lines leading to the window. This is the area which confuses my mind - the size of the window vs the size of the cladding does not seem to tie up and the juxtaposition of the two elements I find confusing, but I feel sure that is 'as seen'.
Your processing technique has brought out the texture of the cadding to perfection and the darkening of the foliage provides a good base to the image.   Posted: 10/14/2025 10:43:22

Ed, a well seen image.
That small window and the broad cladding are intriguing.   Posted: 10/15/2025 09:27:36

Hi Ed
We have a club comp coming up soon called geometric shapes so this has put some thoughts in my head.
I love the foliage in the foreground it contrasts so well with the uniform lines of the building, well composed and wonderful detail and texture throughout well seen and well presented.

Hi Ed
Excellent example of how texture and geometry can take a everyday subject and turn it into an engaging composition.   Posted: 10/19/2025 21:58:26
