About the Image(s)
ISO140, f/2.5, 1/1600s. Shot @70mm with Nikon 70-200mm on a Nikon D850. I shot this image at a dirt race track in Fort McMurray, AB. The rear facing angle to captures the flying dirt behind the car to evoke a sense of speed.

The car is tack sharp. Theflying didrt cwwertainly shows the speed of the car Cropping the right would suggest the car is about to turn left.   Posted: 10/14/2025 17:13:32
Before reading your comments I thought this to be a car wreck. Not very interesting to me.   Posted: 10/14/2025 20:44:07
Rum, rum, rum.. I can hear this car going in this photo! think you captured it well.
However, I might have liked a side view better if you could have gotten it. That shot might have shown not only the flying dirt but possibly a blurred background.
Now, don't you just love it when someone comments, "if you were standing just two feet to the left?" Grr. Next time something to think when shooting.   Posted: 10/23/2025 14:28:41

A good sharp action shot of the car travelling at speed. I think that you were rather limited to this type of shot with your choice of lens and position relative to the track. Personally I prefer images of the side or front of the car rather than the rear going away from the camera.
